How We Care for You

How We Care for You

A Letter From Our CNO

Dear Patient and Family,

We thank you for trusting South Georgia Medical Center to provide care for you and your family. Our team works together to deliver coordinated care with compassion, dignity, respect and empathy based upon the unique attributes of every person.

As a result, we make it a practice to engage our patients and those closest to them by:

  • conducting change-of-shift report at bedside to help ensure safe hand-off of care between nurses by involving the patient and family
  • visiting you every hour during the day and at least every two hours at night to be proactive in anticipating and addressing your needs
  • initiating a collaborative discharge planning process upon admission to make sure you and your family are prepared and ready when it is time to transition your care to home or to another care facility

While we know being in the hospital for any given time can be overwhelming and sometimes stressful, we strive to provide the safest, highest quality of care to every patient, every time.

Regards,

Randy Smith, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC

Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer
